  • 2011 Annual Aquaculture Statistical Reports (AASR) form - Finfish (Appendix XVII of the Finfish Aquaculture Conditions of Licence)  [Excel] [PDF]

  • Licence and conditions of licence [PDF] designed to ensure the sustainable operation and development of marine finfish aquaculture.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada maintains this list of aquaculture licence holders on this website as part of its commitment to provide information to the public and other interested parties on the status of aquaculture facilities in B.C. This list will be updated regularly to reflect changes in licence status.

Reference Notes:

Total Peak Biomass (TPB) versus Total Maximum Production (TMP): DFO currently accepts two different measurements for production biomass to simplify the transition from the provincial to the federal regulatory regime for the aquaculture industry. Alignment of the production biomass to Total Peak Biomass is expected when licences are renewed.

  • Total Peak Biomass: The total maximum biomass of finfish within a facility during a production cycle.
  • Total Maximum Production: Sites that operate using TMP are marked with an asterisk *.
The TMP for each facility is calculated as follows:

         Wt(h) + Wt(m) – Wt(l) where:

  • Wt(h) is the weight in metric tonnes (t) of fish removed live from the aquaculture facility during each production cycle
  • Wt(m) is the weight (t) of fish removed dead from the aquaculture facility during each production cycle
  • Wt(l) is the weight (t) of live fish introduced into the aquaculture facility during each production cycle
