In March and April, 2005, Fisheries and Oceans Canada hosted Community Dialogue Sessions in Victoria, Port McNeil and Vancouver on the Draft National Recovery Strategy for Northern and Southern Resident Killer Whales and on the Draft Revisions to the Marine Mammal Regulations. This report analyzes the written input received in April and May of 2005 on the proposed amendments to the Marine Mammal Regulations (MMR). Many submissions reflected on the importance of protecting marine mammals and supported the intent of the regulations.
