AVHRR and Seawifs data are acquired regularly as the satellites pass overhead. The field of view from the IOS receiving station allows us to acquire data from Baja California to the Beaufort Sea and from the Bering Sea to the Great Lakes. These data are archived on CD-ROM as individual passes at 10-bit resolution and are further processed and geometrically corrected to a series of predefined areas of interest. The processed data are reduced to 8 bit resolution using a sliding 8 bit window. Samples of satellite images are shown below. MERIS images are downloaded over the internet or ordered from Europe by mail.
