Objectives
- Provide timely and accurate assessments for groundfish species.
- Provide advice on available yield to managers and industry.
Conduct biological studies on all aspects of the dynamics of these species, in particular, abundance trends, distribution,
stock delineation, age, growth, and mortality.
- Examine climate/ocean productivity linkages to fish dynamics and begin to incorporate these into the assessment process
Provide advice to regional, national, and international working
groups, committees, commissions, etc. on population dynamics and assessments for groundfish resources of Canada's west coast.
Programs
 |
The
programs within the Groundfish section provide the scientific basis for stock assessments and the development
of management strategies for marine fish resources on the west coast of Canada.
