Centroid positions are center points used to plot herring spawn, catch or tag (mark-recapture) data summarized by 6 regions: (1) Haida Gwaii, (2) Prince Rupert District, (3) Central Coast, (4) Johnstone Strait, (5) Strait of Georgia and (6) West Coast Vancouver Island - see boundary maps.   The size of circles shown at these six positions may depict summations of spawners (t) or catches (t), the numbers of tagged herring recovered (n) or tag recovery precision (see time-series maps or tag recovery maps).

Other spatial scales: statistical areas, herring sections and herring locations.
