Chehalis River Hatchery - General Information

Location

Near Harrison Mills in the Lower Mainland - British Columbia

Directions

From Vancouver, drive one hour east on Highway Number 1 (Trans Canada) and take exit 92 at Abbotsford to get to Mission. From Mission, drive east on Highway Number 7 for about 20 minutes. Turn north onto Morris Valley Road (paved) at the Sasquatch Inn and the Hemlock Recreation Area sign. Follow Morris Valley Road for 6 kilometres. You will see our sign on the right.

Hours of Operation

We are open to the public seven days a week from 8 am until 3:30 pm. There is no charge.

Tours

All public tours are self-guided. Follow the numbered display panels around the site. The tour takes one-half hour. Please obey all signs

Coho, Chinook, Chum Salmon and Cutthroat Trout

Best Times

Chinook Adults: October to November

Coho Adults: June to November

Steelhead Adults: March to April

Coho Juveniles: All Year

Chinook Juveniles: March to May

Public Facilities

The site is paved with lots of public parking and wheelchair access. Public washrooms are located at the front of the main building to the right of the lobby entrance doors.
