Nitinat River Hatchery - General Information

Location

70 kilometers southeast of Port Alberni on the west coast of Vancouver Island

Directions

Reached by logging road from Port Alberni, or from Lake Cowichan and Youbou

Hours of Operation

Seven days a week from 08:00 to 16:00. Site may be closed on weekends during summer.

Species

Chum, Chinook, Coho and Steelhead

Best Times

Adult chum and chinook - September to October; Adult coho mid September to December
