Snootli River Hatchery - General Information

Location

12 km east of Bella Coola at the head of North Bentinck Arm on BC's central coast.

Directions

Once on Hwy 20, head east on Hwy 20 out of town. Watch for signs.

Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday - 8am to 4:30pm

Tours

Guided tours are provided. For the safety of the public, no self-guided tours are permitted. Large groups should call ahead.  Hours 9 AM to 3 PM.

Coho, chum, chinook, sockeye, pinks (in the Atnarko spawning channel)

Best Times

Chum juveniles	release in March
Chum eggtake	July – August
Coho eggtake	October – November
Coho juveniles	Year round – released in May
Chinook eggtake	August – beginning of November
Chinook juveniles	December – June (release)
Sockeye eggtake	August – October
Sockeye juveniles	February – May (release)
Pink adults in the Atnarko Spawning Channel	September
