Habitat Restoration and Salmon Enhancement Program

The Habitat Restoration and Salmon Enhancement Program (HRSEP) was a 5-year funding program designed to increase the quantity and quality of salmon habitat and conserve salmon stocks in British Columbia and the Yukon through community restoration and enhancement partnership programs. From 1997 to 2002, HRSEP provided approximately $35 million to over 550 habitat restoration, stewardship, and stock rebuilding projects, operated and administered by a variety of community groups and agencies. Annual summary reports, an overall program evaluation, final reports and data from the majority of projects funded during the course of this funding program are available to the public through the following websites and the Pacific Region's library.
