Buoy Weather Data
Sixteen offshore weather buoys are maintained by Environment Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada in association with Axys, a private company in Sidney, B.C. The buoys measure general weather information in the marine area around British Columbia and report their data to Environment Canada via satellite.
The data get some rudimentary processing and then are transmitted on the GTS Global Telecommunications System around the world.
This data includes air pressure, air temperature, sea surface temperature, wind observations, and the wave height. The following tabular and graphical data are provided via the National Data Buoy Center (NOAA).
