Freshwater recreational fisheries dashboards
The Freshwater recreational fisheries dashboards show various metrics recreational fisheries in British Columbia’s freshwaters based on the filter options that you select. All dollar values are shown in Canadian dollars that have been adjusted for inflation.

Dashboard options
- Freshwater fast facts annual averages dashboard shows metrics by species, month, trip type, and region. Results are shown in interactive tables.
- Freshwater charts dashboard shows metrics related to fishing days and expenditures by month and species. Results are shown in charts and graphs.
- Freshwater maps dashboard shows the average number of fishing days and average amount of total expenditures by Region. Results are shown on an interactive map.
- Freshwater annual trends dashboard shows the number of fishing days and fishing expenditures by year.
- Freshwater fishers fast facts dashboard shows the year, residency, number of licensed fishers and number of active fishers. Results are shown in an interactive table.
Usage notes
The estimates of official recreational fishing days, expenditures, and licences in this application are available for ease of use and accessibility.
The data includes expenditures and fishing days on major species, regions, and trip types from our Internet Socio-Economic (iSEA) survey of tidal water recreational fishing in B.C. databases. Data reflects fishing efforts and has been aggregated for privacy reasons.
Survey results presented in this dashboard have been weighted in order to scale results to the population level. Additionally, fields such as fishing days and expenditures were calculated by distributing reported values across species, spatial and trip categories. The values have been rounded.
