Sacred salmon journey Sacred salmon journey | Printable poster of an Indigenous representation of the salmon lifecycle and the connections of salmon to land, water, sky and people. The artist Clayton Gauthier is a Cree/Dakelh Artist who resides in Prince George, BC. Clayton works with youth in the school district and in his home community to share art and storytelling. In this piece, Clayton honours the salmon’s journey and all they gift us. We share gratitude for all the gifts that salmon provide. Published in 2020. |

Scales and talesScales and tales! | This series of Scales & Tales is intended to be used sequentially. The fact/fun sheets are written for kids ages 8 to 12 and may be photocopied and distributed separately or as a set. Each sheet illustrates some aspect of the life cycle of the Pacific salmon with information on one side and an activity on the other. There are also suggestions for extension projects which can be done at school, at home, at the library, or in the community. Published in 1993. |

Table talk Table talk - a learning resource for the study of land and water allocation in British Columbia | This learning resource includes a teacher's guide and 33 student booklets and is designed to teach decision-making skills especially as they relate to land-use conflict. Students participate in simulations, taking on the roles of people who represent different sectors or interest groups (forestry, settlement, tourism and recreation, fishing, agriculture, mining and conservation). Working together they plan the future land-use and water use in Pangea River Valley, a hypothetical area in British Columbia. All background information is based on accurate BC statistics. The package also includes short units on watersheds, plays and two short videos entitled "Snapshots" and "Connections". Published in 1996. |
