Aquatic Species at Risk
Did you know?
Motherly love
Each female right whale
forms a close bond with her calf, which is not the case with most marine
mammals. The calf stays close to its mother and often catches a ride in her
wake. Sadly, since 1900, there has been only one sighting of a North Pacific
right whale mother and her calf— off the coast of Alaska in August 2002.
