Commercial Fisheries in the Pacific Region

Commercial fisheries in Pacific Region result in landed values totaling between $400 and $500 million annually and directly employ about 15,000 people in fish harvesting activities. While commercial fisheries for salmon and roe herring are seasonal, fisheries for other species such as sablefish, groundfish, geoducks, clams and other shellfish, occur throughout the year.
