Region 7 - Omineca-Peace

This table refers to fishing for salmon only. For information on other species please refer to the B.C. Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis.

There is no fishing for salmon in Region 7 except for the opportunities listed in the table below.

Note:

  • All retained chinook and sockeye must measure 30 cm or more from tip of nose to fork in tail (fork length).
  • An “adult chinook” in Region 7 is defined as being a chinook over 50 cm fork length (fork length).

Fraser River from powerline crossing the Fraser River near College Heights, upstream to the Northwood bridge crossing the Fraser River. Chinook Jul 10-Jul 25 1 per day, none over 77 cm.
Mainstem river downstream of the McLennan River, except as noted above. Chinook Jul 15-Sep 15 You may fish for chinook salmon, but you may not retain any (Catch and release only).
Nechako River upstream from the white triangular fishing boundary signs at the confluence with the Fraser River to the Hwy 97 bridge (John Hart Bridge). Sockeye To be determined
