If so, it could be carrying a wealth of information. Some of these fish have been marked with a coded-wire tag in their heads. The tag provides important information for fisheries research and management.

Take the head of any sport caught chinook or coho salmon, missing an adipose fin, to a Head Recovery Depot and fill out a catch form.

Your name will then be entered into an annual draw for FABULOUS prizes. You will also receive information on the origin of your fish.
