The combined daily limit for all species of Pacific salmon from tidal waters is 4. Coastwide daily limit for chinook is 2. Aggregate daily limit for all species of Pacific salmon from tidal and non-tidal waters combined is 4.

The waters at the mouth of Sakinaw Creek, east of a line between boundary signs on the north and south sides of Sakinaw Bay, are closed to fishing for all finfish, June 15 to September 15.

Halibut: recreational fishing for halibut is closed until further notice.

Sevengill shark, Shortfin mako, Common thresher, Bigeye thresher, Smooth hammerhead, Pacific angel shark and Pacific sleeper shark; Salmon shark: Effective June 1, 2011 until further notice:

  • Sevengill shark, Shortfin mako, Common thresher, Bigeye thresher, Smooth hammerhead, Pacific angel shark and Pacific sleeper shark: The daily limit is zero (0).
  • Salmon shark: The daily limit is one (1) and the possession limit is two (2).

Prawn and Shrimp: Subareas 16-1, 16-2, 16-10, 16-11, and 16-16 to 16-18 inclusive (Malaspina Strait/lower Jervis Inlet) and Subareas 16-7 and 16-8 (Salmon and Narrows Inlets): Jan. 1 - March 31, 2012: the harvest of prawns and shrimp by trap, ring net, or spear while diving will be closed. When harvesting crab, it is prohibited to use any gear other than ring nets or dip nets in Pender Harbour, east of a line between Henry Point and Francis Peninsula.

The waters of Gunboat Bay inside a line from the B.C. Hydro lines at the entrance to Gunboat Bay, are closed to harvesting crab, all year.

May 31 to September 30: Smuggler Cove; Princess Louisa Inlet; and Buccaneer Bay.
