This version of the 2017 outlook should be regarded as an early scan of salmon production, as very preliminary information, and as subject to change as more information becomes available. Individual outlooks may be periodically updated as statistical forecasts and assessments are completed and reviewed.

    • nine units were data deficient (ND)
  • 32 Outlook Units are likely to be at or above target abundance (3-4)
  • 31 are expected to be of some conservation concern (1-2)
  • the remaining 22 have mixed outlook levels
  • overall, the outlook for 2017 has improved relative to the previous outlook
