Approximately 5 kilometres northwest of Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada
From Campbell River, drive west on Hwy. 28 heading towards Gold River. Look for the "Fish Hatchery" sign, and turn left onto Quinsam Rd. (approximately 200 meters after the intersection with Hwy. 19). Follow this road for approximately 2 km to the hatchery site entrance, (there is a large sign that can't be missed).
8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., every day of the year. NOTE: The gate on the hatchery road is closed and locked at 4:00 p.m., and opened at 7:30 a.m.. Please ensure that your vehicle is out of the area at closing time, or you will be locked in.
The facility and surrounding rivers offer excellent opportunities to view salmon in their natural setting, or being handled at the hatchery. Phone ahead for information on activities. Special tours for special groups can be pre-arranged if staff are available. For general public, there is a self-guided tour with the aid of a pamphlet guide.
