Sardine Integrated Advisory Board (SIAB)
In 2002, the Pacific sardine fishery moved from an exploratory/experimental phase to a commercial fishery consistent with the Department's New and Emerging Fisheries policy. Over the last five years the Department has continued with an incremental approach to development of this fishery. A 2008/2009 integrated fisheries management plan (IFMP) was developed as an interim plan to continue development of the fishery.
